Chuck Stockwell, President
Chuck Stockwell is the co-founder of two Michigan Public School Academies and was the co-founder and CEO of one of Michigan’s first independent ESPs. He is now the President of CS Partners, an educational consulting and management company working with seven public charter schools.
He has twelve years experience working in Michigan Public Charter Schools. Chuck Stockwell was a 2003 winner of Michigan Association of Public Schools Leadership award.
In addition to his work in charter schools he has twenty five years experience in traditional public education as a teacher, ISD program developer and consultant, central office administrator, community college trustee, and elementary school principal. He has experience in facilities development and construction as well as school strategic planning including marketing and mission/vision development. He is the founder and Chief Administrative Officer for Charyl Stockwell Academy, a school that is an innovation leader in K-12 education.

Maria Dockins, Vice President/Chief Financial Officer
Maria Dockins has worked as a business administrator for over 15 years serving Michigan Charter Schools for the last 10 years. Ms. Dockins has a BA from Michigan State University and serves as the Business Manager for CS Partners overseeing human resources, board reporting, and administrative responsibilities for each charter school. She works with authorizers and the State to insure correct reporting on both fiscal and general administrative matters. As a member of the CS leadership team, Ms. Dockins works with the school leaders in developing school budgets, securing financing and monitoring the day-to-day accounting to insure compliance with Michigan School Accounting practices. |

Teri Pettit, Director of Educational Services
Teri Pettit serves as the Director of Educational Services for CS Partners. With over 25 years experience working in education, Teri has experience in traditional and charter school education. She currently works for the Michigan Department of Education, Office of Special Education and Early Intervention Services as a PSA consultant/monitor. She has served as a special education director, elementary school principal, and teacher in both regular and special education. (K-12). Teri is the co-founder of, and assists schools statewide in the implementation of, the Teacher Support Team program initiative designed to prevent learning failure for all students. She additionally has extensive experience in curriculum development, school improvement and compliance, working closely with Michigan and a variety of national organizations to insure the delivery of quality programming. |

Diane Vance, Director of Special Projects
Diane Vance, MA has over twenty years experience in education. She began her career as a special education teacher in Illinois working with blind and visually impaired children in rural and urban settings. In 1997 she began working at Charyl Stockwell Academy serving as assistant principal and principal from 1997 through 2003 where she and the staff laid the foundational work for what would become Smart Character Choices. Ms. Vance has served as Director of Smart Character Choices since its inception and oversees all aspects of the program. She is certified in Reality Therapy and Choice Theory through the William Glasser Institute in California and has been a faculty member since 2000. While principal at Charyl Stockwell Academy, Ms. Vance led the school to become Dr. Glasser’s eleventh Glasser Quality School in the fall of 2001. Ms. Vance also works with CS Partners schools as a consultant for public relations and marketing, Title 1 and other administrative services.

Mike Vance, Facilities Management Director
Michael Vance has an Associates Degree in Welding and Metallurgy from Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, CA and a degree from Clearfield Welding Technical College in Clearfield, Utah. Mr. Vance has over 30 years of experience in Welding, Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Heavy Construction Inspection. He also has 15 years experience in workplace safety (OSHA) and has extensive experience in contracting and contract negotiations for the construction and automotive assembly industry. Mr. Vance has been certified by the American Welding Society as a QC1 (Level One Welding Inspector) and has also been certified by CAL OSHA and ASME for welding inspection and workplace safety. He has also held certifications for concrete, power piping, mechanical equipment / systems, painting and coating, as well as electrical inspection on projects worldwide. Mr. Vance certified by EPA and the State of Michigan as Asbestos Inspector and Management Planner for AHERA compliance. He is currently involved in the complete facilities management and compliance of Charter Schools.

Carlie Lockwood, Director of Human Resources
Carlie Lockwood earned her Bachelors of Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University with a major in Marketing, graduating in 1996. Upon graduation, she joined the K-Mart Corporation in Troy, Michigan in Finance and other related Business and commercial departments until she joined Smart Schools Management as Human Resource Manager in 1998. In her current assignment as Director of Human Resources for CSP Management, Mrs. Lockwood coordinates all of the personnel, benefit, and other compensation issues for each school as well as serving as the employee contact for all staff. She also works with the school leaders and staff to develop annual staffing plans for each school. She and her husband Chad live in Fenton with their four children, Brady, Trevor, Bo and Drew. |

Dawn Marshall, Chief Compliance Officer
Dawn Marshall monitors all compliance matters for schools under full service agreements with CS Partners. Ms. Marshall graduated with a B.S. in Communications from the University of Illinois and graduated cum laude with a J.D. from Seattle University School of Law. In addition to working in a small law office, she has also sat on the Executive Boards of Seattle University´s Moot Court, the American Bar Association/Law Student Division of Washington, and the International Law Society of Seattle University. After relocating to Michigan in 2002, she has worked with Michigan charter schools in various capacities. Ms. Marshall is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Oakland County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. As Chief Compliance Officer, Ms. Marshall provides the support necessary to keep CS Partners and their schools compliant with all federal, state, local and authorizer requirements.

Susan Ryan, Gifted and Talented Specialist
Susan M. Ryan is an educational consultant with more than 35 years experience supporting the development of gifted and creative children and adults. She coordinated gifted programming in Livonia Public Schools, K-12. She developed the preschool program for Schoolcraft Community College´s, Kids on Campus and taught post graduate students in gifted education at Wayne State University.
Susan has an Education Specialist Degree in Gifted Education from Wayne State University and a BA and MA in education from Michigan State University. She has served on the Boards of The Michigan Alliance for Gifted Education, Schoolcraft College´s Kids on Campus, and Zhiyuan Chinese School. She is a member of the Michigan Alliance for Gifted Education and the National Association for Gifted Children.
Susan has collaborated with Dr. Barbara Clark, leader in the field of gifted education, in implementing the Integrative Education Model, and is a Master Practitioner in Qualitative Assessment, studying under Dr. AnneMarie Roeper, founder of the Roeper School for the Gifted. Susan is recognized in Who´s Who Among American Teachers, and her most recently published article is in Gifted Education Communicator, Summer 2003, Spring 2008 and Understanding Our Gifted, Winter 2009.
Currently Susan is the Consultant to the Charyl Stockwell Academy in Hartland, MI where she oversees the overall program development for the academically gifted, administers the Qualitative Assessment, and supports gifted youngsters and their families. She also privately consults with families of gifted children. |

Lisa Pick, Dean of Curriculum and Instruction, Charyl Stockwell Academy
Lisa Pick has been in the field of education since 1992. Mrs. Pick graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor´s of Science in Early Childhood Education and later received a Master´s of Science in Special Education from John Hopkin´s University. Mrs. Pick taught preschool through fourth grades and has worked with students with special education needs through sixth grade. Mrs. Pick became a High/Scope certified teacher in first through fourth grades. While teaching at Charyl Stockwell Academy for four years, Mrs. Pick was also the Reading Specialist and High/Scope Consultant for the school. After teaching for eight years, Mrs. Pick became an educational consultant for Engage Learning, training and working with teachers in North Dakota, South Dakota, Arizona, and New Mexico. Mrs. Pick´s current role is the Dean of Curriculum and Instruction at Charyl Stockwell Academy. |

Shelley Stockwell, Executive Director of Charyl Stockwell Academy
Shelley Stockwell has over 29 years experience in education, serving the last 15 years as an elementary school principal. She holds a MA in Guidance and Counseling from Eastern Michigan University, was awarded elementary and secondary administration certification from the state of Michigan in 1988, and is certified in Crisis Intervention Training and Special Education Administration. Ms. Stockwell currently is the principal of Charyl Stockwell Academy. Ms. Stockwell was the principal of Webster School in Livonia for ten years. Webster School served as Livonia´s magnet school for academically gifted and talented children and as the regional center program for elementary aged students with moderate cognitive impairments. She brings to CS Partners extensive experience implementing innovative programming at the elementary school level. She has written and published curriculum endorsed at the district, university and state levels. Ms. Stockwell also has experience in facility renovation and design to insure floor plan reflected the educational model required to serve the needs of the student population. |

Jim Perry, Director of Kensington Woods High School
Jim Perry earned his Bachelor´s of Arts in Psychology and Master´s of Arts in Education from the University of Michigan. He has over twelve years of experience in education with particular interest incorporating experiential education into the small high school model. Most recently, Mr. Perry has developed a comprehensive model to use the community as an educational resource for high school students to earn credits through internships, community based courses and dual enrollment with a local university. He has been a member of the Kensington Woods High School faculty since the first year in 1995/96. Jim served as a Social Studies instructor and assistant principal at the Academy before beginning as principal in July 1999. |
